You can show up at 6 Governmental Ave, behind Havelock PD, or call them at (252) 444-2712. Their hours are Monday - Saturday, 10am to 3pm.
Havelock Animal Control Volunteer Guidelines

Anyone under the age of 18 must have an adult with them.

Volunteers always work alongside staff — no one is ever left alone in the shelter.

Safety first! Follow staff directions and wear gloves or protective gear as needed.

Expect to help with things like cleaning, toys, litter boxes, or walking dogs.

Only staff answer phones, handle adoptions, or provide medical care.

Volunteers don’t drive the animal control truck or respond to calls.

The city isn’t responsible for any personal injury or damage during volunteer work — safety is key!

Always ask if you’re unsure about anything.

If you acknowledge these rules, then you understand you're part of a team helping the hardworking staff and the animals of Havelock.
You can also help by:
🐕 Donating Supplies Directly to Havelock Animal Control: Food, treats, old towels and blankets, pellet litter, cleaning products, and other essentials help Animal Control care for the animals every day.
